Identifying An Organizational Structure In A Startup Business Essay Organizational structure contains activities such as coordination, supervision and task allocation, which are directed towards all achievement aimed by an organization. It can also be considered as the viewing glass or perspective through which individuals see their environment and the organization. Most likely there are many organizations that have graded structures, but not all companies do follow the grading steps. Most organizations are with variants of gathered entities. Different organizations have different variants of gathered entities. An organization can be structured in different other ways. It all depends on their objectives. The structure of the organization would determine the modes in which it performs and operates. An organizational structure allows the expressed distribution of responsibilities for different processes and functions to various and different units such as the department, workgroup, branch, and individual. All organizational structure does affect any organizational actions in mainly two big ways. Firstly, an organizational structure provides foundation on which standard routines rest and operating procedures. Secondly, the organizational structure determines which individuals get to do which particular decision-making processes, and also to extent their views in shaping the organizations work actions. Types of Organizational Structure 1.2.1 Bureaucratic structure Bureaucratic structures have their certain grade of standardization. They are more suited for larger scale or more complex organizations. They usually have a very tall structure. Then strain between non-bureaucratic and bureaucratic structures is reverberated in Burns and Stalker distinction between organic and mechanistic structures. It is not the entire thing about bureaucratic structure. It is very much complex and useful for graded structured organization, mostly and mainly in tall organizations. For example, they could be staffed with software engineers. This could lead to a lack of communication between the functional groups within the organization. This would make the organization very inflexible and slow. A functional organization is best suited for producer of standardized services and goods at large volume at low cost. Specialization and coordination of tasks are normally centralized in the functional structure, which makes it to produce a limited amount of services or products expectable and efficient. Efficiencies can be realized as functional organizations integrate their activities vertically so that products those are distributed and sold quickly at low cost. A small business could start making the mechanisms it requires for production of their products instead of just procuring the product from an external organization. It is not only beneficial for an organization; it is also beneficial for the employeeà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s faiths 1.2.3 Divisional Structure This is also known as a product structure, the divisional or product structure divides every organizational function into different division. Each and division within the divisional structure consist of all the necessary functions resources and within it. Divisions are categorized in different points of view. One might make distinctions on a product basis /service basis or on geographical. Different products for different customers: households or companies. Another good example is an automobile company; they have different division such as a division for the four heel drive, a division for sedan car, a division for compact cars and more. Each division might have their own sales, marketing and engineering departments. 1.2.4 Matrix structure The matrix structure gathers employees by both product and function. This structure combines the best of both separate structures. A matrix organization normally uses groups of employees to complete any work, this is to make up for the weaknesses, as well as to take advantage of the strengths, of the decentralized and functional forms. For example a company produces two products, product A and product B. Product A would have different and various departments, product B would have the exact same structure and departments as the product A. Matrix structure is the purest of all the organizational structures, it is the most simple structure in emulating the companies demonstration. 1.3 Type of Company This company organizes parties. It is a party planner company. This company plans all sorts of parties in any celebration. For example the organization does organise parties for wedding, birthdays, and many other functions in schools, companies and more. This company provides catering service too. Cleaning service after any function or ceremony is provided if this company had managed the event. Event management is the application of project management to the development and creation of events, conferences, and festivals. Event management includes studying the details of the brand, identifying the objectives of the audience, planning the concept of the event, planning the logistics and organizing the technical features before actually trying to execute the modalities of the planned event. The events that this company does are; making games in a birthday party. For example, for a childà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¾Ã ¢s birthday party that is twelve years and below, we provide them with clowns, magicians, and simple events such as musical chairs for the kids. For birthday party of the adults, sixteenth birthday would be a great example, this company provides disk jockey (DJ) to have some music, this company provides the state of the art lighting service, and more. For parties that this company plans for a wedding is small games for the groom and the bridegroom. These games are chosen by our customers. The games that we provide are not only for the groom and bride groom but it is also for the people who attends the wedding ceremony. 1.4 Functional Structure The organizational structure that had been chosen for this company is the divisional structure. This is because this structure has the simplest form of organizing people into different departments to prepare the necessary needs in the organization. The main reason of choosing this structure is that we could divide groups of people into department. For example; a group of people will be on the in the lighting department, a group of people will be in the music department, a group of people will be in the cleaning department and many more. 1.4.1 Advantages: The advantage of having this structure is that the manager or the boss of this organization can easily see the process of network of the people working under them. It is easy to organize people in this structure in order to make things happen. It is also easy to control the employees or workers in this form. 1.4.2 Disadvantages: The disadvantages are that if the company does not have enough workers the organization has to find for new fresh workers. The managers cannot just move employees from department A into another department B. The fear of facing the weakness of this company is sometimes very terrifying and it would not be as terrifying at times. The terrifying moment of weakness is when the company Is lack of workers at the last minute. that is really a bad news for this kind of organizational structure.

Optimal Capital Structure Essay
The optimal capital structure for a company should be the mix of equity, debt and hybrid instruments that minimizes the overall cost of funding, i.e. it should minimize the companyââ¬â¢s weighted average cost of capital. In practice, however, it is not possible to specify this optimal capital structure exactly, for any individual company. It clearly makes sense to obtain funds at the lowest possible cost. In the long run, debt is cheaper than equity. However, when a companyââ¬â¢s financial leverage increases as it takes on more debt capital, there is an increasing risk for stockholders. The cost of equity therefore will rise, perhaps offsetting the benefits of raising cheap debt capital. Although management cannot be specific about the optimal capital structure for their company, they should at least be aware of â⬠¢how banks and the capital markets might respond to an increase in the companyââ¬â¢s leverage level if it were to borrow new funds, and â⬠¢Whether the company is sufficiently low geared to make new debt capital an attractive option, compared to a new issue of equity as a fund-raising measure. There are two approaches to managing a companyââ¬â¢s capital structure: a reactive and a proactive approach. The reactive approach is to take funding decisions when a requirement for moreââ¬âor lessââ¬âfunding becomes apparent, and to raise or reduce capital by the method that seems best at the time. The proactive approach that is found in companies with large and well-organized treasury functions is to â⬠¢forecast future funding requirements or funding surpluses as much as possible â⬠¢establish targets for capital structure, in particular a target leverage level (a target range) and a target maturity profile for debt capital â⬠¢If appropriate, raise funds early when new funding requirements are anticipated, in order to take advantage of favorable conditions in the capital markets or low bank lending rates. This approach calls for accurate and flexible forecasting skills, and good treasury management systems. A proactive approach also can be taken to reducing funds, whenever a company considers its current funding to be in excess of requirements for the foreseeable, long-term future. By having a target leverage level and a target debt maturity profile, management can decide which method of removing surplus capital might be more appropriate, i.e. â⬠¢reducing equity, by raising dividends or buying back and canceling stocks, or â⬠¢Redeeming loans early. Companyââ¬â¢s capital structure is never static and will change over time. Retained earnings that should be earned continually add to equity and reduce leverage levels. It is not unusual, therefore, for companies to experience funding cycles of high leverage, as new loans are obtained to fund capital expansion, and decreasing leverage, as retained earnings are earned. The cash flows generated from profits could be used to redeem loans and thereby replace debt capital with equity in the companyââ¬â¢s capital structure.

Devin Good Persuasive Essay Period 7 10-10-12 Global Warming: The Governmentââ¬â¢s Little White Lie ââ¬Å"Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation? â⬠(Thomas Sowell) The truth is that itââ¬â¢s hard to know whether or not our planet is heating or cooling. Global warming happens all the time and itââ¬â¢s not because of carbon dioxide or human interaction and is more of a political issue than reality.Even though temperatures are rising, it happens all the time. Global climate change is nothing new to our planet. According to Edmund Contoski global climate changes have occurred ââ¬Å"63 times in the past 1. 6 million years,â⬠(Contoski. n. p). So since our Earth is always rebounding from one change to another we have no need to worry. There is proof itââ¬â¢s warming but there has been evidence that the planet was once cooling. In t he early 1970s scientist thought the Earth was cooling but there predictions were proven wrong too.As famed writer Michael Crichton points out, ââ¬Å"If scientist canââ¬â¢t accurately predict what next weekendââ¬â¢s weather will be like, how can they predict what the next centuries climate will be like? â⬠(Crichton. n. p. ) Scientist do have proof that in the last few years the earth has warmed minisculely. However when compared to the entire 20th century, the earthââ¬â¢s temperature has only risen by 0. 6à ° C. This is barely a notable change and was wiped out by a drop of 0. 63à ° C in 2007. Scientist are trying to justify their idea of global warming by making many claims that are not scientifically backed up.They are claiming that animal migration patterns are changing as well. They also say that some species are migrating farther and sooner northern. When in reality migration pattern changes happen naturally and change year to year. Another common claim is tha t we are accelerating certain species extinction, but extinction occurs in nature without human interaction due to predation and lack of resources. The polar ice caps are another object that scientist like to grab ahold of to push their idea of global warming. The ice shelf fluctuates from year to year, causing it to appear to be shrinking ne year but the next year it may regain the ice it lost or gain more. The media however only likes to report on the loss of ice caps. Sadly it makes a better story about how polar bears are being killed by corrupt companies than how we regained 3% of the ice caps. Carbon dioxide is not causing global warming. Carbon Dioxide (CO() only makes up 0. 035% of our Earthââ¬â¢s atmosphere and is not even a powerful greenhouse gas. Human production of carbon dioxide has increased in recent years but humans are still not the biggest producers of CO(.Nature is ironically the largest producer, making up for 97% of all the CO( on Earth. Volcano eruptions an d swamps make up a large portion of this. A large part of this blame is just the use of a scapegoat. If an answer can not be easily identified and put to blame then the most infamous one is chosen. Many large and widely known companies choose to go along with this proposed ideas to appeal to the common people who then also choose to believe that the companies know best. An example of this is the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, when many well known companies wasted millions on fruitless research projects.It was originally wrote to reduce fossil fuels consumption but was proven to just be a stunt to gain image as wanting to save the planet. Consumers would much rather buy a drink from the company that claims it saves the planet than buy one from the company that a random scientist says kill baby seals. Global Warming is based on political ideology rather than reality. The media and elite groups control what the public knows and does not know in todayââ¬â¢s world. If they want you to believ e in global warming just so they can con you out of $25 a month, they will.When in reality scientist who report to these companies with their findings are corrupt themselves. They will follow the money flow, even if it means lying and destroying evidence. When it was proven that Earth was not cooling and in fact heating, a large sum of carbon dioxide reports were deliberately ignored when filing a report about global warming being caused by CO(. If the paper does not support the present idea then the paper and research must be false. The miss-use of computer programs is common too. Humans program the simulations after all, so they can not be exact.Then with the falsified proof scientist can influence the population to anything they want. Now you have proof that global warming is more political and is not caused by humans or CO(. It is not a global crisis but rather natural phenomenon that the ââ¬Å"manâ⬠wants to use to control us. How to Fill Out the Standard Application to Private School
The Standard Application, provided by the SSAT, facilitates the process of applying to multiple private schools for grades 6 through the PG or postgraduate year by using a common application. There is a standard application online that applicants can fill out electronically. Here is a breakdown of each section of the application and how to complete it: Part One: Student Information The first section asks students information about themselves, including their educational and family background, and whether or not their family will be applying for financial aid. The application also asks if the student will require a Form I-20 or an F-1 Visa to enter the U.S. The first part of the application also asks whether the student is a legacy at the school, meaning that the studentââ¬â¢s parents, grandparents, or other relatives attended the school. Many schools offer a relative advantage to legacies in comparison to similar non-legacy students in admissions. Part Two: The Student Questionnaire The student questionnaire asks the applicant to complete the questions on his or her own in his/her own handwriting. The section begins with a number of short questions that usually ask the student to list her present activities and her plans for future activities, as well as her hobbies, interests, and awards. The student may also be asked to write about the reading she has recently enjoyed and why she liked it. This section, though short, can allow the admissions committees to understand more about the applicant, including her interests, personality, and the subjects that excite her. There is no one right ââ¬Å"answerâ⬠for this section, and itââ¬â¢s best to write honestly, as the school wants to make sure applicants are a good fit for their school. While it may be tempting for a hopeful applicant to write about her compelling interest in Homer, admissions committees can usually sense insincerity. If a student really likes ancient Greek epics, by all means, she should wri te about her interest in honest, vivid terms. However, if she is really interested in sports memoirs, itââ¬â¢s better for her to write about what she really reads and to build on this essay in her admissions interview. Remember that a student will also go through an interview and may be asked about what she wrote on her admissions essays. This section of the application also allows the student to add anything he or she would like the admissions committee to know. The studentââ¬â¢s questionnaire also requires the applicant to write a 250-500 word essay on a subject such as an experience that has had an effect on the student or a person or figure the student admires. Writing the candidate statement can be difficult for students who have never completed this type of essay before, but they can write the essay over time by first starting to brainstorm about their meaningful influences and experiences and then outlining, writing, and revising their essay in stages. The writing should be produced by the student, not by the parents, as admissions committees want to understand what the student is truly like and whether the student would be a good fit for their school. Students generally do best at schools that are right for them, and the candidate statement allows students to reveal some of their interests and personalities so the school can evaluate whether the school is the right place for them. While it is again tempting for the student to try t o appear to be what the school wants, it is best for the student to write honestly about her interests and thereby find a school thatââ¬â¢s appropriate for her. The Parentââ¬â¢s Statement The next section on the standard application is the parentââ¬â¢s statement, which asks the parent to write about the applicantââ¬â¢s interests, character, and ability to handle private school work. The application asks whether the student has had to repeat a year, withdraw from school, or has been put on probation or suspended, and it is best for the parent to explain the situations honestly. In addition, the more honest, though positive, a parent is about a student, the better chance the student will have to find a school thatââ¬â¢s a good fit. Teacher Recommendations The application concludes with forms filled out by the applicantââ¬â¢s school, including a recommendation by a school head or principal, an English teacher recommendation, a math teacher recommendation, and an academic records form. The parents sign a release and then give these forms to the school for completion.
